Where there used to be equity and honor, now lies the apathetic response towards the laws established for society.
It was the 3rd of September 2024, where Former Mayor Alice Guo had been finally found to face the consequences of her actions by the land of Indonesia, the same way as Apollo Quiboloy had been captured by the Philippine National Police in Davao City 5 days later. As expected of the government’s action plan, it only jeopardized the integrity among the citizens.
News are on the rise in regards with the Former Bamban Mayor, Alice Guo, and Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder, Apollo Quiboloy, as they had been hastily apprehended by the government officials. Guo, who is now faced with charges in human trafficking and money laundering, mirrors the same trials with Quiboloy who is tied with sexual crimes. This alone acts as a call on being a paradigm for change, striking the order for undisputed justice to be served once again.
The plea on keeping them protected amidst the charges held liable against them became an open avenue for the influential to follow the path in undermining the nation’s justice system. Sparking the attention and gaining multiple reactions coming from the netizens, pondering how it still came to this settlement despite the previous cases handled similarly to this.
Taking consideration on how the scales are being weighted of a normal citizen and a prominent individual, the verdict seems to lie more on the preference of the rich rather than bind with the contrary, no matter what the course of the situation is.
The unwavering concern of the Filipino people seems to be incessant, oftentimes where they don’t get to have a taste of the same privileges that the formidable figures have.
Navigating through its incompetent intricacies, the normal civilians would only find themselves coping with the heavier burden as penalized by the officials in control of the situation, destabilizing the harmony of society by having justice being lumbered down in exchange for dirty money.
Moreover, continuous transgressions among the oppressed is not an unfamiliar exchange, solely grasping at the bare minimum approach of an average citizen’s rights that still barely hangs on a thread.
Additionally, turning a blind eye against the validity of an ordinary citizen’s stance encourages the judgment to tilt towards the benefit of the wealthy.
Nonetheless, given this overwhelming maneuver of injustice, equity serving as a catapult is becoming an invincible endeavor to achieve. With no one but relying on the same administrators to execute such preemptive measures makes it more difficult for us to attain the ethics and morals the same way that they have rendered it for each and every one of us.
As we constantly strive for growth, the root is still decaying within our system, it is now up to us whether to take the initiative or not. Appearing to take matters into our own hands despite it being an apprehensive course, strengthens the rise of the principle to take over the privileged.
