On October 25, 2024, the Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School community celebrated fitness, wellness, and health with Physical Education and Health Day 2024, an annual event at AdDU-SHS inviting the Grade 11 and 12 learners, teachers, administrators, and non-teaching personnel to ignite their passion in dancing through PE, highlighting the theme, “Move to the Rhythm: A Fusion of Fitness and Dance for a Healthier Lifestyle.”
The event consists of types of dances per grade level, in collaboration with the subjects Physical Education and Health 1 and Physical Education and Health 3. Grade 11 students get to share their dynamic moves in Zumba, while Grade 12 learners get to groove to every beat with HipHop.
To officially welcome PEH Day, Sir Ranie Diacor and Shahanie Sedik, the hosts for the said event, led the opening program. Soon after, they gave center stage to the Physical Education and Health cluster leader, Sir James Yvon S. Canoy. He proceeded with the opening remarks, shared his insights about the importance of moving for a healthier self, and extended his thanks to everyone who made the program possible.
“More than our goal to advocate for fitness, the cluster also hopes that through these activities, we will instill the values of collaboration, discipline, and teamwork.” He stated.
To further hype up the audience, Analyn Lechadores Turno, a Zumba Instructor, was invited on stage along with Sir Ricardo P. Enriquez, the school’s director, and other teachers for a short Zumba performance, inviting everyone to take part.
