DAVAO CITY, Philippines—As the seven clusters sway their way to the crown, each couple showcases their skills at the 'Manayaw: Dance Sports' competition for Ignite 2024 this March 7 at the Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School (AdDU SHS) gymnasium.

At the program proper, the opening remarks were made by Pulsong Atenista Student Government (PASG) President Rezalvacion Baneke, followed by the Parade of Talents and Production number of the couples from the seven clusters.

The 'Manayaw: Dancesports' competition judges for Ignite 2024 were Mr. Patrick Jezter Bacus, Mr. John Roy Pangyan Palima, and Ms. Farrah Ortega Alfaro.

Following the judges' presentation, The Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS) and Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) 2024 Dancesports competition winners performed a jaw-dropping intermission number.

The DACS champions performed dances such as the Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive as their last dance. Meanwhile, the DCAA champions executed their winning piece of the Snowball dance, Tango, Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep.

The elimination round consisted of three dances:  the Cha Cha Cha, the Rumba, and the Jive—all couples from Pamplona, Rome, Salamanca, Paris, Jerusalem, Barcelona, and Montserrat spin to the rhythm on the dance floor.

Of the seven clusters, only three stood out, and the Physical Education and Health (PEH) Cluster leader James Yvon Canoy announced Montserrat, Jerusalem, and Salamanca as the final round qualifiers for the competition.

At the awarding ceremony, the AdDU SHS Director Ricardo P. Enriquez declared the ranking of the winners in the competition, with Jerusalem as the second runner-up and Salamanca as the first runner-up.

“Okay masaya po ako sa winner sa dancesport na ito, ang champion ay, Montserrat!” Sir Enriquez exclaims the victor of 'Manayaw: Dance Sports' of Ignite 2024.

The crowd roars, and Sir Enriquez adds, “Alam na alam silang panalo, nagready na doon.” Looking at the winning couple make their way to the middle of the dance floor and onto the podium.
