February 24, 2023—On the upper echelon of the Cheerdance Competition (CDC) realm, the Rome Gladiators proved that the "save the best for last" tagline is not just a cliché as they were crowned as this year's champions; satisfying the students’ yearning to see how the Ateneans flaunted their cheering spirit while performing.
Before the competition proper started, the introduction of judges occurred. The competition's judges were Mr. Godfrey S. Calipayan, Mr. John Riv E. Akiatan, and Yves Spencer Briant N. Santander.
The chosen cheer dancers from the eight clusters stunned the crowd with a jaw-dropping and powerful routine as they united for the opening salvo. The performance also exhibits each cluster's teasers for their performances later on.
The competition started from the Salamanca Cluster, wherein they showcased their pride with their Maskara Festival-themed routine.
Next up was the Montserrat Cluster showing that they were there to dominate the competition with their Darna-themed routine.
Following them was the Jerusalem Cluster with their blazing performance as they stayed true to their form as Herd of Stags.
The Manresa Cluster slithered their way with their venomous routine as the fourth performer.
With a thundering roar, the Barcelona Cluster showcased their cheering spirit with a Philippine-themed routine to set forth their thriving pride as the mighty lions.
After them was the Pamplona Cluster, with their fiery presentation as they showed their flaming desire to win the competition.
The Paris Cluster displayed its strength with a red and gold-themed routine ending with their tagline, "Lupad Paris."
Lastly, the Rome Cluster raised its flag as they flared up the gym with their lively and festive performance.
The aura of the participants screams power and charisma. Their moves are full of confidence as they set their eyes on being called this year's champions.
Meanwhile, the Paris Eagles claimed the first runner-up title, and the Barcelona Lions as the second runner-up.
