Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) of Region 11 reigned supremacy and crushed Region 13 in the swimming competition of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Mindanao Games 2023 held at Ateneo de Davao University Junior High School - Matina Campus last April 18-20, 2023.
Region 11 blemishes the record as the boys’ category in basic education nabbed 16 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze; the girls’ category collected 17 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze.
The men’s category in Region 11 also copped 14 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze. Their female counterparts took 14 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze.
Meanwhile, Region 13 garnered 2 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze in the boys’ category; 3 silver and 3 bronze for the girls’ category.
The men’s category in Region 13 also grabbed 7 silver and 2 bronze, while the women’s category secured 3 silver and 3 bronze.
The competition kicked off with individual events on its first and second days, while team events occurred on the latter part of the second day and the majority on the third day.
During the 3-day competition, 64 swimming events took place, including backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, medley, and freestyle relay. All these events comprised different categories, from basic education (girls and boys) and higher education (men and women).
