IGNITE 2023: Salamanca Locks Top Spot in Table Tennis Women Finals

February 24, 2023—The Salamanca Tigers ended the finals in style after Niña Angela Mozar and Naomi Grace Lanzo captured the Women's championships in Brackets A & B at Ateneo de Davao University - Senior High School (AdDU-SHS) Robotics Laboratory, solidifying their status as a table tennis powerhouse.


Dominant wins allowed the Salamanca Tigers to finish the competition matches on a high note. Salamanca raced to an early 2-1 lead in Bracket A (11-9, 10-12, 16-14), with Niña Angela Mozar sweeping the competition against Yornyll Brigette Balaud from Paris Cluster.


Bracket B was an all-out battle between the two teams. With a 3-0 set, Salamanca's Naomi Grace Lanzo eroded the chance of Barcelona's Celine De Las Llagas with a commanding triumph of 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-7), earning their double championships in the women's division.


After the championship matches, the fighting for third place commenced. In Bracket A, Manresa edged out Barcelona with a score of 2-0 (11-7, 11-9), settling for third place.


Meanwhile, Jerusalem Stags stood gallantly at third in the standings of Bracket B, just behind the Barcelona Lions, after clobbering the Pamplona Phoenixes, 2-0 (11-4, 11-7).
