IGNITE 2023: Manresa Rises as the Venomenal Champions of CODM

February 18, 2023—After the trudging hours of battle and combat, the war zone finally has its conqueror as the Manresa Vipers slithered forward in the Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) championships against Paris, 2-1, in a Search and Destroy best-of-three match.


Paris strongly defended their sites against Manresa's furious attacks in the first round, leading the match, 6-3.


As they were approaching the second round, the stream faced technical difficulties.


“When the technical difficulty happened, I guess the other team didn’t know. They kept playing, and so did we. We scored 4 rounds while our opponent only had 1. After that, I think they figured out that the facilitator wasn’t streaming, so we all left the match even though it wasn’t done yet. Afterward, the facilitator started the match again and picked up where our last game left off,” Samantha Lansoy, Manresa’s team captain, stated.


Manresa Vipers nevertheless scored against Paris Eagles in the second round, with the deciding factor being a 1v1, and ended the final round campaign after walloping the Paris Eagles.


“After losing the first round, instead of pointing fingers, we came up with strategies and plans. We read our opponent’s movements and communicated properly. I guess that’s how we gained the momentum back,” Lansoy explained.


"The opponent is strong, we were pressured after losing the first round. But, my team shook off the pressure and thought of another strategy to win the following rounds. We always manifest and believe that we'll become the champion for this event, and because of our teamwork, it made our dream work,” Cheene Anne Felix, a player from Manresa, said.


“Our experience in playing CODM during the ignite was really fun. My teammates and I clicked immediately despite us not knowing each other yet,” Lansoy concluded.


After the Search and Destroy raid, Manresa Vipers are restless against the Paris Eagles, leading the match, 6-4. Following closely behind, Paris took the1st runner-up, while Pamplona and Rome as the third and fourth runner-ups, respectively.
